Crispy Croutons


Here’s a quick and simple twist on an old favourite, croutons. Croutons are great to add to salads, but the traditional small square of plain crispy bread could do with a make over, and here it is…

Thinly slice a Ciabatta loaf, rub the surface with a cut garlic clove, and place on a baking tray. Sprinkle with sea salt and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil then bake for around 8 minutes in the centre of a moderate oven, 180C or Gas mark 4.

These are really tasty croutons and a great addition to any salad. Once cooked you can break them into smaller pieces or leave whole.
