Not your typical bag of salad

It seems humans are not the only fans of salads, amphibians are quite partial to a crisp lettuce leaf too. And a UK supermarket are doing their best to ensure that they get some by making some unusual additions to their bags of salad.

So, you’ve been along to the supermarket to purchase your bag of salad. Now in this story the bag of salad cost .49 pence, so at most you’re going to find lettuce in there, not really a salad, but it’s a start.

I guess what you wouldn’t expect to find in there is a frog, but that is exactly what a guy named Fraser Lenson-Wade found in his bag of salad. Yes, that’s right, a Frog!

Fraser, a web designer, from Scotland had this to say…

“I bought the lettuce the day before and put it in the fridge without opening it.

Next morning, I opened the bag to make a salad to take to work and this frog jumped out.

I couldn’t believe it. Who knows how long it had been in the bag before I bought it and then it survived in the fridge.

I called the frog Freddie, although I didn’t know whether he was actually a she. I put him in a Tupper-ware box with some water and lettuce, since that was one thing I knew he liked.

It’s a disgrace. What if I’d eaten the salad without realising the frog was there? Who knows what kind of germs it could be carrying?

It will make me think twice about buying lettuce from Somerfield in the near future”

Hmmm, “Who knows what kind of germs it could be carrying?”

Could this have been a Killer Salad?

I guess we’ll never know, as Fraser didn’t eat the salad, instead he released Freddie back into the wild. He even filmed it…
