Tuna and Pasta Salad

Tuna and Pasta Salad

This salad recipe involves some preparation, but it is worth the time and effort as it’s a really tasty dish. And let’s be honest, you’ve always wanted to impress your friends by using tomatoes that you have peeled and seeded yourself in a killer salad.

You will need

1 (12-ounce) pack of pasta bows
3 tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped

3 stalks celery, chopped

1 (12 ounce) can of tuna fish, drained

1 cup of light mayonniase plus a 1/4 cup Italian-style salad dressing

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt and black pepper to taste

Cook the pasta in a large pan of salted water until it is al-dente, firm but not hard. Rinse the pasta under cold water and drain.

In a large bowl, mix together the cold pasta, chopped tomatoes (you can find out here how to peel and seed them) celery and tuna.

In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Italian salad dressing, sugar and salt & pepper.

Mix them well, even using a whisk if you want to.

Now, add the dressing to the pasta, tuna, tomatoes and celery and mix them together.

Leave to cool in the refrigerator for about an hour before serving.

This is delicious served with some garlic bread and a glass of chilled white wine.

Enjoy!

  1. This si the exact recipe i use, except that i use pasta twists instead of bows, but anyway you could put any pasta with it. I loved the texture and the celery in particularly went very well with the tuna, really brings out the taste of the celery! If i had time i used to make it and take it to work in my lunchbox!
